Keele Community Hub

Shakespeare in Action is partnering with For Youth Initiative's Keele Community Hub to offer a three week, six session poetry workshop for youth ages 14 to 29.

No Character Limit is a program in which participants learn not only the technical aspects of poetry, but are also given the space to mold their words and build their confidence in self expression through writing and speaking.

This workshop will take place over six sessions, held on April 9, 11, 16, 18, 23, and 25. Sessions are from 4pm until 5:30pm, and are held at Keele Community Hub, 1652 Keele St, Toronto, ON M6M 3W3.

Each participant will receive a $50 honorarium. Participants are asked to please attend all sessions.

Shakespeare in Action is partnering with For Youth Initiative's Keele Community Hub to offer a three week theatre movement workshop for youth ages 12 to 29.

Move And Create is all about using imagination to create movement. We will find inspiration in visual art, mundane objects, architecture, music, etc., and participants will be encouraged to explore creative impulse through movement.

This workshop will take place over three sessions, held on March 11, 18, and 25. Sessions are from 4pm until 5:30pm, and are held at Keele Community Hub, 1652 Keele St, Toronto, ON M6M 3W3.

Move And Create

Shakespeare in Action is partnering with bcurrent Performing Arts and For Youth Initiative's Keele Community Hub to offer a four week theatre creation workshop for Black youth!.

Reclaiming Black Canadian History (RBCH) is for creative, curious, and imaginative Black youth ages 14-17. This workshop series will involve research, creative writing, acting, and storytelling through the body and voice. Participants will research Black Canadian historical figures and spaces and find ways to create short theatrical pieces based on their learnings.

This workshop will take place over four sessions, held on February 5, 12, 26, and March 4. Sessions are from 4pm until 5:30pm, and are held at Keele Community Hub, 1652 Keele St, Toronto, ON M6M 3W3.

Each participant will receive a $50 honorarium. Participants are asked to please attend all sessions.

Reclaiming Black Canadian History

Ages 14 to 17

February 1 and 16, 10am to 4pm

Artscape Weston Common

Shakespeare in Action is partnering with Theatre Direct to offer Voice 2 Text, a two day theatre workshop for youth ages 13 to 19.

Plays-in-development, playwrights and teenage actors collide in this two-part play exploration. Teenagers will read aloud a new play before diving into its themes and performance styles–all in a day! Voice 2 Text is an opportunity for participants to discover exciting plays and collaborate with professional theatre artists.

Participants will receive lunch, snacks, and a honorarium ($50) for participation. All levels of experience are welcome.
