A Student Prepares

Innovative in-class program. Available year-round.

In this groundbreaking program, a professional actor/teacher performs key speeches from one of our focus plays, and leads students through text analysis and fun, lively workshop activities.

The program is designed to prepare students for oral presentations, speeches and debates, as well as dramatizations of scenes and monologues.

Students will gain a better understanding of Shakespeare’s themes, characters and language, and will learn how to create effective performances for their syllabus.

Our focus plays for this season are:

  • The Merchant of Venice
  • Hamlet
  • King Lear
  • Macbeth
  • Julius Caesar
  • Othello

Ages: Suitable for grades 9 - 12.

Testimonials:

"Your program really plugged my students in to Shakespeare’s language. I was impressed by the efficiency and professionalism of your teachers and we all learned so much – including me!"

“We were so glad to have your pilot program of A Student Prepares in our classroom. It made a real difference to my students’ understanding of the play. They had fun, and Shakespeare became so much more than a book to be studied in class. The play really came alive! Thank you!”

“Well done. Your teachers were engaging and professional and they connected to the students in ways I’ not sure they realized.”

“Congratulations on a wonderful new program. We can’t wait to have you back again next year!”
